Sunrise in Odisha: Jupiter & AMPIN Launch Major Solar Hub

Jupiter International and AMPIN Energy Transition have inaugurated their joint venture manufacturing platform, AMPIN Solar One, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, establishing an integrated facility for solar cell and module production.

The plant was inaugurated by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, underscoring the state’s growing prominence in India’s renewable energy manufacturing landscape. Chairman and Managing Director Alok Garodia described the project as a strategic step toward building a strong domestic manufacturing ecosystem, combining scale, quality, and execution in collaboration with AMPIN and the Government of Odisha to advance clean energy objectives.

The initiative aligns with India’s policy push through Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) framework, aimed at strengthening localisation of solar manufacturing and reducing dependence on imported solar components, particularly from China.

Odisha is increasingly emerging as a preferred destination for solar investments, with companies such as Waaree Energies, Inox Solar, Saatvik Solar, and Icon Solar establishing manufacturing operations in the state. This development further reinforces India’s broader push towards self-reliance in clean energy manufacturing, capacity expansion, and increased investment inflows.
